Membership and Fellowship in The Explorers Club
bring many privileges including:

  • Camaraderie with renowned members sharing a common zeal for exploration and new knowledge the world over.
  • Honor of carrying The Explorers Club Flag on field expeditions.
  • Invitations to The Explorers Club events:
  • The Explorers Club Annual Dinner.
  • The Lowell Thomas Awards Dinner.
  • Public Lectures.
  • Members Events.
  • Special Programs/ Fund Raising Events.
  • Subscription to The Explorers Club publications, including The Explorers Journal and The Explorers Club Newsletter.
  • Club mailings include EC Travelers, upcoming events and Youth Programs.
  • Opportunity to mentor young explorers.
  • Use of the Club Facilities including the Members Lounge, the library, the lecture hall, and The Hillary Map Room.
  • The privilege to participate with or attend events hosted by any of our chapters world wide. Note: Individual chapters may have additional fees to facilitate organization of members events.
  • The opportunity to volunteer to serve on EC Committees, Chapter Committees.
  • The right to vote for The Board of Directors and run for Elected Office.
  • Permission to rent Club facilities at discounted rate for press conferences and private cocktail, dinner and other parties.
  • The use of the Club emblems, clothing, and other items.
  • Reciprocal privileges with selected other clubs in New York, London, and the Pacific Northwest.
  • Discounts at selected hotels and restaurants in New York.

Friends of The Explorers Club enjoy the following privileges:

  • Invitations to The Explorers Club Annual Dinner and The Lowell Thomas Awards Dinner as well as fund-raising events, Members' Events and free admission to Public Lectures
  • Subscription to The Explorers Club publications, including The Explorers Journal and The Explorers Club Newsletter.
  • Selected Club mailings, including the Explorers Travelers announcements and information on Youth programs
  • Use of the Club Facilities including the Members Lounge, the library, the lecture hall, and map room.
